Traxxas was born in 1986 with an idea for a fully assembled, hobby-class R/C car, at the time this was a completely new concept. Traxxas even coined the term "ready-to-run" or rtr. Over the next few years, Traxxas' electric RC cars grew in performance and features.
Traxxas has won many regional and national off-road championships and offers kit versions of those winning models, like the TRX-1 buggy, or the Blue Eagle race truck. In 1989 Traxxas went to the water and developed the Villain IV cruiser. In 1996 they introduced the first ready-to-run nitro boat, the Nitro Vee.
